The organizers will invite leaders from relevant ministries and commissions such as the United Nations Environment Programme, World Tourism Cities Federation, National People's Congress, Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, General Office of the State Council, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, State Forestry Administration, National Tourism Administration, and Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as authoritative experts to form the selection committee. They will select: 1. "Top Ten Eco-Tourism Cities in China", 2. "Top Ten Ecological Protection Cities in China", 3. "China's Green Ecology Model Counties", 4. "National Advanced Counties (Towns) in Creating Beautiful Villages", 5. "National Advanced Units in Forestry Ecological Protection", 6. "China's Rural Tourism Destinations", 7. "China's Characteristic Tourism Towns", 8. "China's Green Ecology Scenic Areas", 9. "China's Cultural Ecology Scenic Areas" and other models of green ecological civilization development.
According to the person in charge of the Beautiful China Green Towns Selection Committee Office: This event will be conducted based on the principles of fairness, impartiality, and openness, aiming to centrally select and showcase a group of model towns and scenic areas to the public. The selection process will progressively include expert evaluation, media publicity, and on-site inspections. Their exemplary experiences and achievements will be published in the "Beautiful China Promotion Guide" and "Beautiful China—A Report from Green Development Cities and Scenic Areas", and a special promotional video titled "'Green Development, Beautiful China'" will be produced and broadcasted and distributed through major national media. This will reflect the efforts made by various localities and departments in achieving green development, facilitate the exchange and learning of development experiences. At the same time, it will guide the whole society to adhere to a new green development mindset that promotes the coordinated advancement of environment, economy, society, and culture, advance the government’s implementation of green development strategies, establish green tourism development concepts and green industry images, and continuously promote the new blueprint for the development of Beautiful China.
At that time, China Tourism and Economic TV will use its own platform to provide direct promotion to the selected exemplary governments and scenic areas, targeting Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and radiating across the entire Asia-Pacific region, showcasing the tourism landscapes, cultural attractions, and other tourism resources, development information, and city images of the selected regions.
The organizers will invite representatives of Beautiful China model towns and advanced units in green development to attend the "Promoting Green Development · Building Beautiful China High-Level Forum and Model Towns and Scenic Areas Achievement Release Conference" to be held in Beijing in 2017. Central and capital-level hundred news organizations will focus their reports, and advanced experiences will be featured in special sections of China Tourism News, China Green Times, and China Environment News. They will also be selectively reported on mainstream media such as China Central Television, China International Broadcasting Station, and China Tourism and Economic TV. Their exemplary experiences and achievements will be published in the "Beautiful China Promotion Guide" and "Beautiful China—A Report from Green Development Cities and Scenic Areas", and a special promotional video titled "'Green Development, Beautiful China'" will be produced, edited, and made, then broadcasted and distributed through major national media.
