From April 21 to 22, 2017, a delegation from the China Outdoor Brands Alliance (COA) conducted a comprehensive and in-depth inspection of the outdoor industry in Tokyo, Japan. The inspection covered the macro development of Japan’s outdoor industry in recent years, the state of the outdoor retail sector, the trends in domestic outdoor sports, and the status of Chinese domestic brands in Japan.
The delegation consisted of over ten members, including COA Chairman Sheng Faqiang (of Toread), COA Director Zeng Hua (of Skogstad), as well as other COA member representatives such as Fire-Maple, Polar, Happy Fox, Robinson, Nitecore, Cervos, UTO, and representatives from the Asia Outdoor Trade Show. On the Japanese side, former President of the Japan Mountaineering Association Mr. Kanzaki Tadao and Ms. Imada Akiko, secretary of the Japan Mountaineering Association, welcomed the COA delegation. Li Haojie, head of the training department at the Chinese Mountaineering Association, was responsible for facilitating communication and coordination between the two sides.
