Beijing Huang Ji Huang Sanzhi Men Pot No. 1 Store Opens in Taipei, Next Stop Taoyuan ATT

The renowned hotpot chain from Beijing, Huang Ji Huang Sanzhi Men Pot — which uses not a single drop of water — officially opened its Taiwan No. 1 store at ATT 4 FUN on the 17th. After the Taiwan No. 1 store opening, the next stop for Huang Ji Huang Sanzhi Men Pot will be Taoyuan ATT, with plans to open one new store every quarter.

Huang Ji Huang Sanzhi Men Pot was introduced to Taiwan by Tiancong International. Zhang Guoqiang, the company’s strategy director, stated that after the opening of the Taiwan No. 1 store, the brand will continue its expansion, with plans to open one new store per quarter. The next location will be Taoyuan ATT, followed by expansions to Hsinchu, Banqiao, and Taichung. Zhang noted that generally, there will only be one store per city or county — hence, Taipei will only have the ATT 4 FUN branch, while New Taipei City will see a store in the Banqiao area.

Huang Ji Huang Sanzhi Men Pot is adapted from the famous Qing Dynasty dish “Spicy Fish in Sauce.” Its preparation involves not adding a single drop of water, earning it the title of a “hotpot without soup.” The bottom layer is covered with root vegetables, followed by various customer-selected main ingredients, then covered with a lid for “stewing,” allowing the flavors of the vegetables and main ingredients to blend. After more than ten minutes, a secret sauce is added and poured over the ingredients, cooking for additional time to let the flavors fully develop. Since the bottom layer consists of root vegetables, moisture is slowly released during the stewing process.

The secret sauce is made from soy sauce, various spices, and potato starch. The addition of potato starch gives the sauce an extremely thick consistency, and it is continuously hand-whipped before pouring to incorporate air and increase viscosity. This ensures the sauce spreads evenly over the ingredients rather than sinking to the bottom of the pot. In terms of pricing, the cheapest pot is a NT$700 mushroom pot, while the most expensive is the Deluxe Combo Pot at NT$2,100, featuring ingredients such as Boston lobster, swimming crab, and Angus beef short ribs.
