Seven thousand years ago, the Shangzhai Tribe lived in the Jinhai Lake area. Archaeologists discovered sculptures from the Shangzhai Tribe here: a stone monkey and a pottery pig. Because of the discovery of these works, the entire history of sculpture has been pushed back one thousand years. It can be said that Jinhai Lake has had an inseparable bond with sculpture for seven thousand years. The First Jinhai Lake International Sculpture Exhibition is a cultural inheritance spanning seven thousand years.
Mountain-Water Setting – The First Jinhai Lake International Sculpture Exhibition presents the various spiritual dimensions explored by some of China’s most representative contemporary sculpture artists. Bringing them together collectively offers a comprehensive visual representation of China’s current contemporary sculpture art.
