At 08:06 on June 2, 2017, the footprints of 23 brave university students were left on an untrodden peak at an altitude of 5,155 meters in Diqing Prefecture, Yunnan Province. With this, the previously unconquered “untrodden peak” was officially conquered by these young adventurers, marking the successful completion of the 2017 Snow Beer University Students’ Brave Journey to Untrodden Peaks Challenge.

Since its nationwide launch in March, the 2017 Snow Beer University Students’ Brave Journey to Untrodden Peaks Challenge lasted two months. From among millions of university students across the country, 24 student adventurers and 5 members of the student press team were selected. On May 25, the student adventurers gathered in Shangri-La with a shared goal. After quickly adapting to the high altitude, they promptly immersed themselves in intensive practical training for the peak climb.
Training sessions including hands-on climbing equipment drills, eight-hour trekking adaptation exercises, and roped group climbing practice honed these aspiring adventurers. For the students, conquering an untrodden peak was an unprecedented extreme challenge. With the ultimate belief of “reaching the summit,” they overcame numerous obstacles along the way and pressed forward toward victory.
At 5:00 a.m. on June 2, the student adventurers lined up and began their final push to the summit.
Under the glow of their headlamps, their figures gradually disappeared into the pitch-black night as they headed toward the various unknown challenges posed by the untrodden peak.

The climb was extremely arduous, with loose rocks lurking beneath snow and oxygen levels decreasing with altitude. Facing the steep slopes leading to the summit, no one gave in — all determination remained in their silent perseverance.

At 08:06, the adventurers successfully reached the summit of the untrodden peak, imprinting their youthful mark on this unconquered mountain.
