The hotel treats guests to a traditional Miao ethnic welcoming dance with local characteristics
China’s hot spring culture boasts a long history, with hot spring bathing becoming popular since the Tang Dynasty. The Danzhai Wanda Jinhua Hot Spring Hotel uniquely integrates local culture with the area’s premium hot spring resources, infusing distinctive Miao cultural elements to create a hot spring resort with a strong “Sacred Waters of the Miao Homeland” theme.
Located in the Danzhai Wanda Tourism Town in the Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, the Danzhai Wanda Jinhua Hot Spring Hotel is about a two-hour drive from Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province. Designed with the concept of “overlooking mountains and waters, watching fish dance; meandering along the shore and through woods, listening to rustling trees,” the hotel draws inspiration from the terraced fields of Danzhai. It combines traditional Chinese vacation-style architecture with the form of ancient Miao villages, featuring clusters of buildings nestled against hills and waters in a uniquely charming layout.
The hotel offers 95 guest rooms and suites infused with local character, all fully equipped so guests can enjoy views of East Lake, the Kalage Birdcage Mountain natural scenery, or the town’s vistas without leaving their rooms. The all-day dining restaurant “Yun Fu” features three private rooms, an independent hall, and outdoor dining areas. The restaurant serves primarily local Qian cuisine, complemented by selected dishes from Hunan and Sichuan cuisines, delivering a unique culinary experience. Additionally, the hotel provides full high-speed wireless internet coverage, ensuring easy global connectivity even away from urban areas. A 90-square-meter multi-function room meets various needs of business travelers. The gym, with scenic views on three sides, includes an aerobic exercise zone and is equipped with fitness machines from the Italian brand Technogym. Notably, the “Yun Qin” Hot Spring SPA features five indoor and outdoor hot spring pools, sourced from local underground thermal water at a depth of 2,700 meters, maintaining a constant temperature of around 60 degrees Celsius year-round. The “Yun Qin” Hot Spring SPA also offers traditional Chinese spa services, allowing guests to relax both body and mind during their stay.
In addition to offering top-tier, comprehensive service facilities, the Danzhai Wanda Jinhua Hot Spring Hotel complements the Danzhai Wanda Tourism Town. The Danzhai Wanda Tourism Town was awarded the “Best International Commercial Project” at the 54th Annual PCBC Gold Nugget Awards in the United States. Centered around intangible cultural heritage preservation and ethnic customs, its main attractions include the Guinness World Record’s largest waterwheel, hundred-acre terraced flower fields, three major folk performance arenas (bullfighting, bird-fighting, and cockfighting), three non-material cultural heritage experience courtyards (papermaking, batik, and birdcages), three ethnic culture-themed streets (Yougong, Sisters, and Miao Street), four major folk plazas (Yougong, Miao New Year, Drum Tower, and Golden Pheasant), as well as a Wanda Cinema. The town also includes four commercial zones featuring folk handicrafts, gourmet food, local specialties, and leisure waterscapes, integrating “dining, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, entertainment, and education.” It serves as the future tourism hub of southeastern Guizhou.
The official opening of the Danzhai Wanda Jinhua Hot Spring Hotel not only creates more local employment opportunities but also assists the local government in strengthening tourism development and promotion. Mr. Ilja Poepper, Vice President of Wanda Hotels & Resorts, said: “Combining internationally advanced hotel management concepts with the active inheritance of local Miao village characteristics, the Danzhai Wanda Jinhua Hot Spring Hotel will provide globally traveling guests with a ‘limitless joy, vibrant and colorful’ stay experience.”
