ISPO BEIJING will continue to partner with ALPITEC CHINA as they both look forward to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics

Under the eager watch of the world, on July 31, 2015, the International Olympic Committee announced in Kuala Lumpur that Beijing had won the bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics. The global attention and investment drawn by this achievement will further accelerate the development of China’s sports market.

For many years, ISPO has actively promoted the development of China’s sports industry. In addition to hosting the eleven-year-old ISPO BEIJING, which focuses on outdoor, winter, and extreme sports, the newly launched ISPO SHANGHAI this year has not only strengthened its presence in outdoor sports but also expanded its exhibition scope to include sports fashion, urban fitness, water sports, and travel services.

Seizing the opportunity of Beijing’s successful Winter Olympics bid, the owner of the ISPO brand, Messe München GmbH, and Italian exhibition company Piacenza Fiere announced that the partnership between ISPO BEIJING – The Asia Outdoor, Sports & Fashion Trade Show and ALPITEC CHINA – The International Exhibition of Mountain & Winter Sports Equipment will continue through 2022. This marks the ongoing collaboration of the two exhibitions, covering everything in China's sports goods market from sports infrastructure to personal equipment.

(From left to right) Mr. Reinhold Marsoner, Managing Director of Piacenza Fiere, Mr. Klaus Dittrich, Chairman and CEO of Messe München GmbH, Mr. Armin Hilpold, President of Piacenza Fiere and former German Ambassador to Rome, and Mr. Reinhard Schöfers, Supervisory Board Member of Piacenza Fiere, signed the cooperation agreement, signifying the continued success of ISPO BEIJING and ALPITEC CHINA in the Asian winter sports market.

“Over the years, ISPO BEIJING and ALPITEC CHINA have provided an excellent platform for both established and emerging brands, attracting increasing attention from professional audiences. Especially after Beijing was chosen as the host city for the 2022 Winter Olympics, it has become an unmissable industry event for brands looking to establish themselves in the Chinese market. If you want to stay strong in the international sports market, you must seize the robust growth of China’s sports industry,” said Klaus Dittrich, Chairman and CEO of Messe München GmbH.

Mr. Armin Hilpold, President of Piacenza Fiere, also expressed great joy about the continuation of the partnership: “We look forward to the Beijing Winter Olympics helping to actively promote the development of winter sports in China, with the hope that more and more enthusiasts will develop a growing passion for these sports.”

The Chinese sports goods market continues to grow steadily. The Chinese government has introduced relevant policies to support public health initiatives and consistently emphasizes the importance of sports. At the same time, the construction of sports equipment and ski resorts has received strong support. All these positive developments will significantly promote the rapid and healthy growth of China’s sports goods market.

A long list of international brands including LOWA, Mammut, and TECNICA, as well as domestic brands such as Toread, Kailas, and MobiGarden, have greatly benefited from the services and influence of the ISPO exhibition.

The next editions of ISPO BEIJING and ALPITEC CHINA will be held from February 24–27, 2016, at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. For more details, please visit the official websites: http://beijing.ispo.com.cn/, and http://www.fierabolzano.it/alpitecchina/cn/
