Cuteness Alert: EVA Air’s “Gudetama Lazy Plane” is Here—No Need to Unbox It!

Following the adorable Hello Kitty and playful Cool Guy Penguin, EVA Air has teamed up with Sanrio to unveil its latest creation—the “Gudetama Lazy Plane”, which officially debuted today (24th)!From now on, it will operate daily flights between Taoyuan and Tokyo (Narita) under routes BR196/BR195. With Gudetama’s signature laid-back vibe surrounding passengers, you won’t want to close your eyes for even a second!

To celebrate the maiden voyage of the Gudetama plane, EVA Air specially invited Taiwan’s Chief Operating Officer of Sanrio, Li Mingxun, EVA Air General Manager Chen Xianhong, and others to attend and preside over the inauguration ceremony. A signed illustration board by Gudetama’s illustrator was also presented on-site. During the event, Gudetama himself made a surprise appearance, and his incredibly cute, humorous, and lazy look attracted passengers eager to take photos with him.

EVA Air’s Gudetama-themed aircraft is named the “Lazy Plane.” It is EVA Air’s first A321 model to feature a special livery. The design showcases Gudetama in his typically relaxed manner, slowly packing his bags in preparation for a wonderful vacation. His expressive and amusing facial expressions are sure to brighten passengers’ moods as soon as they step on board!

The service items on the Gudetama plane follow the spirit of the Hello Kitty livery. Up to 30 cabin amenities—from headrest covers and pillows to utensils, paper cups, and napkins—are designed with Gudetama motifs. The vibrant yellow creates an energetic cabin atmosphere. The flight also offers a limited-edition Gudetama-themed meal, featuring egg-based dishes.
