What kind of technologies will shape the future of the apparel industry? If you were to ask this question, we believe every professional in the industry would tell you: the most technologically advanced garments are sportswear. At the "2018 CHIC Fashion Expo" held at the National Convention Center from March 14 to 16, the "Textile Future Exhibition," jointly organized by the China Textile Information Center, WGSN, and ISPO, provided a direct answer.

At this year’s "Textile Future Exhibition," the "ISPO Global Design Awards" featured a curated selection of 19 globally awarded clothing products, showcasing five Chinese domestic sportswear brands — "Anta," "Toread," "Polaris," "CRT," and "Shangfei" — alongside 12 international sportswear brands. Since its inception, the "ISPO Global Design Awards" has seen an increasing number of Chinese brands stepping onto the global stage. In 2018, "Polaris" and "Toread" even won the "ISPO Global Design Gold Award." Let’s take a closer look at these two award-winning products.

Alongside the product displays, Mr. Wang Yilei, the New Business Development Director of ISPO Asia, also shared insights face-to-face with attendees during the "Textile Future Forum" held on the morning of March 16.He introduced the "Three Ultra-Trends" in global functional apparel: "Ultra-Functionality," "Ultra-Lightweight," and "Ultra-Natural."This presentation attracted strong interest from over a hundred audience members on-site. The combination of trends and products vividly illustrated the cutting-edge, innovative, and functional aspects of sports products.

As a leading global sports trade platform, the ISPO Expo has evolved to not only includethree major multi-category exhibitions — ISPO Munich, ISPO Beijing, and ISPO Shanghai —which help enhance brand visibility and establish business connections, but also to featureawards and initiatives such as the ISPO Global Design Awards, ISPO Global Innovation Challenge, ISPO Functional Textiles Trend Awards, and ISPO Academy. These provide a wealth of knowledge and experience, share industry insights and forward trends, encourage innovation, and promote the development of the sports industry. The touring exhibition of the "ISPO Global Design Awards" aims to share and disseminate trends in functional textiles and related innovative products across the industry.

At this year’s ISPO Shanghai Expo, taking place from July 5 to 7 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, the "ISPO Global Design Awards" will present even more exciting winning products. Stay tuned!

With the rise of "Made in China" and Chinese brands, the market for sports goods and functional fabrics and accessories is no longer dominated solely by international players. In an interview with reporters, He Xiaoqing, Project Manager of ISPO Shanghai, stated: "We believe that the 'Textile Future' is a future driven by technology and innovation, and also the future of the sports industry. The functionality of textiles is increasingly valued by consumers, and the continuous application of innovative technologies to enhance textile functionality is both a current and future trend."

As a professional exchange platform for upstream and downstream industry information sharing, ISPO has always strived to provide a stage for Chinese manufacturing, accelerating the arrival of the future. Therefore, at this year’s ISPO Shanghai Expo, the highly acclaimed"Emerging Brands Zone"will return, highlighting the next generation of important innovators in China’s sports goods industry.

Additionally, there will be a dedicated"Suppliers Zone"that will facilitate procurement and business discussions for professional functional fabrics, accessories, and production supply chains in the sports goods industry.
