Wuxi, May 12, 2018 — The 6th Lavender Flower Viewing Festival of 2018 has grandly opened at Snow Wave Mountain. In early summer, the lavender garden on Snow Wave Mountain welcomes its most beautiful season once again. The sea of purple scenery here has become a “romantic tourist destination” where people come to seek fragrance, cleanse the soul, feel romance, and encounter beautiful love.
The Snow Wave Mountain scenic area borders Taihu Lake to the south, Meiliang Lake Scenic Area to the west, and is closely connected to Wanda Cultural Tourism City to the east. Covering an area of 5,000 acres, it is a national 3A-level tourist attraction. The lavender fields of Snow Wave Mountain are the purple calling card of the scenic area. The herb garden spans over 500 acres, and during peak bloom, the purple flower fields undulate like waves, blending harmoniously with the blue sky. The Snow Wave Mountain Herb Viewing Garden boasts a continuous display of various flowers and plants throughout the year. The colorful flora, combined with the hilly terrain of Snow Wave Mountain, makes the area especially fragrant and enchanting in all seasons.

Featured Attractions & Cultural Heritage. While admiring the vast expanses of lavender, visitors can also explore numerous cultural sites that are truly captivating: Known as the “First Peak of Taihu Lake,” Snow Wave Mountain boasts stunning landscapes and is a place of outstanding natural beauty and talented individuals. The “Jiangzi Academy,” built in memory of Jiang Zhongzhen, Wuxi’s first top imperial scholar, remains well-preserved. The “Snow Wave Tribute Tea Garden,” with a history of over 300 years, the serene halls echoing Buddhist chants, the solemn thousand-year-old “Hengshan Temple,” and the “Hengshan Thatched Cottage,” which houses a collection of regional cultural artifacts, all add profound cultural heritage to Snow Wave Mountain.
Revitalized Energy & New Experiences. Snow Wave Mountain rafting is the only true water-based attraction in Jiangsu Province. With a river course stretching over 2,000 meters and a drop of more than 100 meters, visitors can fully enjoy the thrill of getting close to the water. Snow Wave Mountain go-karting features a nationally certified C-level track, with layout and curves designed by experts. To make it convenient for visitors, the following bus routes serve Snow Wave Mountain during the lavender season this year: Routes 157, 133, 105, 128, and 395.
