The 618 shopping carnival reached its peak during the Dragon Boat Festival, and as a high-end car fridge brand originating from Europe, Indel B achieved remarkable results this 618. From June 1 to June 18, Indel B’s total sales on Tmall and JD.com increased by 245% year-on-year, making it the sales champion in the high-end car fridge category. Meanwhile, on the JD.com platform, all of the top 7 best-selling car fridges were from Indel B.

JD.com High-End Car Fridge Category: Sales and Revenue Double Champion, Up 276% Year-on-Year

In April this year, JD.com and Indel B joined forces to sign a strategic cooperation agreement, jointly boosting the car fridge market. Tang Yishen, General Manager of the Auto Supplies Department under the Home Life Business Unit of JD.com’s Fashion & Lifestyle Business Group, once stated: “Car fridges have shown astonishing explosive growth. By analyzing consumer data on the JD.com platform, we found that especially among those who love self-driving tours, the demand for high-end car fridges is very strong.”

The large population of self-drivers has led to more self-driving needs, and in the self-driving tour market, the group has a higher demand for preserving travel consumables. Coupled with the fact that food can be affected by factors such as traffic, travel distance, and weather during self-driving trips, leading to a decline in preservation quality and thus reducing the overall travel experience. Amid the growing demand for preservation among various self-driving groups and travel consumables, the car fridge category, which offers low-temperature preservation capabilities, has gradually emerged and become the most sought-after essential item for quality leisure self-driving tours. During this year’s 618 e-commerce promotion, Indel B’s car fridge sales on the JD.com platform increased by 276% year-on-year, securing the top spot in high-end car fridge sales share and leading the rapid growth of the car fridge category.

Tmall High-End Car Fridge Category: Sales Volume and Revenue Double Champion, Up 208% Year-on-Year

According to data from the Tmall platform, during last year’s Double 11, the car fridge category saw a year-on-year increase of up to 100% on Tmall, more than 2.5 times the growth rate of the entire Tmall network. And in this year’s popular 618 shopping festival, Tmall’s sales still topped the high-end car fridge market, increasing by 208% year-on-year. Indel B has long been known for its high quality and advanced technology. Since inventing the world’s first car fridge in Italy in 1967, it has been deeply involved in the industry for 51 years. Using German refrigeration technology, Indel B was used in space by NASA as early as 1982 for astronaut life support, and is now a Tier 1 supplier to 21 internationally renowned car brands including Mercedes-Benz and Volvo. Today, Indel B is sold in 66 countries including the United States and Germany, becoming the choice of over 2 million users worldwide.

Consumption Upgrade: Indel B Car Fridges Become Standard for Self-Driving Tours

The theme of this year’s 618 was “Ignite Your Passion,” compared to last year’s “Break Free from the Busy, Enjoy the Good Stuff,” highlighting the demand for quality of life and experiential consumption. Is this a consumption upgrade? Yes, it certainly is. But what should be more closely examined is the driving force behind it — the strong desire for quality and taste. Enhancing the quality of self-driving tours and igniting the car fridge market has become Indel B’s goal. Just imagine, when you’re on the highway, a chilled can of cola can instantly make your troubles fade away. And when you arrive at a scenic place, being able to take out fresh fruit for a campsite or even fresh barbecue ingredients to start grilling without having to look for vendors is undoubtedly an excellent experience. Passing through a place and discovering great local specialties, only to be unable to bring them home and share with others due to lack of preservation, is also a significant regret. On March 28, at the launch event for the new Indel B T20, Chief Experience Officer Eddie Peng shared his thoughts on the Indel B car fridge: “The old self-driving tours weren’t fun. I didn’t understand before, but after using an Indel B car fridge, I finally realized what real self-driving tours are all about!”

On May 29, Indel B held a unique car fridge launch event on the grasslands. The brand’s five major technological breakthroughs allowed more guests to personally experience how owning a car fridge can elevate the self-driving experience beyond imagination. First, German refrigeration technology achieves a minimum cooling temperature of -18°C. Second, fast cooling reaches 0°C in just 15 minutes. Third, dual-zone temperature control allows simultaneous freezing and refrigeration: the fridge compartment is separated for independent temperature control. Fourth, a smart app enables wireless phone control. Fifth, automotive-grade paint finish delivers European and American high-end quality for a touch of luxury in self-driving adventures.
