On the afternoon of June 29, the Asia Outdoor Expo Summit — Outdoor Travel Forum, jointly organized by the Asia Outdoor Expo, CampingChina, and RuiYingTu, was successfully held. At the event, leading figures from Ai Zijia Media, Beiwai Kaiying, China Express, Qunar Theme Tours, Renwoyou Outdoor Education Academy, Sunlight Domain Group, RuiYingTu, Yuting Group, and CTS International Cultural Media exchanged insights, collectively interpreting the opportunities at the intersection of outdoor and travel.

Topic 1:

Play in China, Soar Across the Nation — Exploring Scenario-Based Outdoor Travel Models

Shang Long, General Manager of Inner Mongolia Region at China Express, and Zhou Tong, CEO of CTS International Cultural Media (Beijing) Co., Ltd., kicked off with innovative ideas on outdoor travel, drawing from the “Play in China, Soar Across the Nation” project.

Ms. Zhou Tong believes that outdoor travel should transition into scenario-based media formats by integrating multiple elements, capturing four key concepts — “trendy, foodie, stylish, wild” — and using a mix of video, audio, and graphic layout to create new travel experiences.

Mr. Shang Long introduced that China Express is building a three-dimensional transportation network with tourism resources in destinations such as the Inner Mongolia region. During the sharing session, the two guests announced a global partnership recruitment plan targeting outdoor scene brands, custom city scenes, trendy brand cities, and story-driven merchants, receiving an enthusiastic response from the audience.

Topic 2:

How Can OTAs Promote the Scalable Development of the Outdoor Travel Market?

Song Yawen, Head of Theme Tours at Qunar, discussed the integration of the outdoor category with Qunar’s theme tour projects. According to the "2016 China Tourism Industry Revenue Scale" released by the National Tourism Administration, China's tourism industry showed counter-cyclical growth, with domestic trips exceeding 4.44 billion and inbound tourism reaching 138 million. As a result, developing customized theme tours became a strategic focus for Qunar in 2018: integrating the supply chain for personalized categories like outdoor travel, identifying high-quality suppliers and institutions within the tourism industry chain, incorporating content from professional players and KOLs, connecting with true travel service providers, and delivering personalized recommendations to each individual traveler.

Topic 3:

Building a Self-Driving Ecosystem and Leading the Trendy Culture of Self-Driving Travel

Liu Baolong, Marketing Manager of Ai Zijia Media at People's Transportation Publishing House, noted that for five consecutive years, self-driving travelers in China have accounted for over half of all domestic tourists, making them the largest travel group in the country. Ai Zijia focuses on destination highlights, excellent self-driving routes, guided self-driving tours, campsites, car rental for self-drive, and automotive content related to self-driving, striving to provide effective services to all stakeholders in the self-driving travel industry.

Topic 4: Camp Education Boosts Regional Tourism Revitalization

Four guests discussed issues related to camp resources and curriculum resources in camp education. Du Lin, Vice President of Yuting Group, introduced how the Hubar Adventure Park has implemented camp education at the Rock Camp near Dujiangyan, providing dormitories, cafeterias, tents, and various experience programs for children. Hu Xuelin, Co-founder and CEO of RuiYingTu, stated that implementing camp education can revitalize regional tourism economies and make full use of camp resources during off-peak seasons.

Li Peng, Vice President of Beiwai Kaiying / Director of OS Business Unit, suggested that currently, some camp education institutions lack their own camps, which makes it difficult to standardize educational programs. Camp education can add an educational dimension to camps, while teenagers naturally attract visitors, enhancing user retention. Zhu Ming, Founder of Renwoyou Outdoor Education Academy, emphasized the need to integrate outdoor camp education with family and school education, develop extended offerings, and find synergies across various travel-related content to drive revenue.

Topic 5: The Business of Camps — Uncovering the Commercial Value of the Outdoor Industry in Camp Development?

Liu Xiaofeng, Vice President of Sunlight Domain Group, used Sunlight Valley as an example to illustrate how camps, as platforms enhanced with diverse outdoor sports content and equipment, can create unique IP-based business cooperation models through the integration of hardware and software. He mentioned that camps cater to those seeking outdoor experiences and a connection with nature, encompassing various formats including outdoor activities, camp education, and scenic area resources.
