With the full development and support of Gannan Jiuse Xiangbala Tourism Development Co., Ltd., the Amigonghong Scenic Area has undergone tremendous changes in less than a year. Since the successful renovation of scenic projects such as Coral Beach Flower Sea (Jiuse Flower Stream), Anguo Folk Village, and the Ten-Thousand-Mu Rapeseed Flower Viewing Platform, in August 2018, the grassland horse racing field within the scenic area also officially entered the operational phase.
During the interview, the reporter learned that the grassland horse racing field at Amigonghong Scenic Area was not newly developed land but rather a renovation of the existing attraction, Coral Beach.

In response to the reporter’s question, Mr. Yang Haijin, General Manager of the scenic area, replied: “Regarding the location of the horse racing field, there was much discussion during the initial stages of the project. The decision to choose Coral Beach was based on three main reasons: First, there are many flower sea attractions across the country, each with its own unique charm, and the grassland horse racing field at Coral Beach will become its most distinctive feature in the future. Second, considering the protection of the grassland environment, developing a brand-new five-kilometer horse racing field would inevitably cause considerable damage to the grassland, whereas renovating an existing attraction can achieve two goals at once. Third, Coral Beach is the largest attraction in Amigonghong Scenic Area, spanning over a thousand acres. It is difficult for visitors to fully appreciate the entire expanse of the flower sea, but when riding on horseback, not only can you take in the entire flower sea, you can also gaze out at the ten-thousand-mu rapeseed fields.”
The construction of the grassland horse racing field will play a crucial role in enhancing the visibility of the Coral Beach Flower Sea attraction and in the overall development of the Amigonghong Scenic Area.
Subsequently, the reporter learned that the grassland horse racing field currently has 20 horses, all of which are Hequ horses. Known as the dancers of the grassland, Hequ horses have left a glorious mark in China’s long history. According to historical records, the Hequ horse has a history of more than 1,300 years. The reason the Amigonghong Scenic Area’s grassland horse field chose Hequ horses is not only due to their historical and cultural significance, but also because these horses are gentle in temperament, calm in demeanor, and highly adaptable to high-altitude and changeable climates. They can ride smoothly even at altitudes above 4,000 meters, providing a significant safety assurance for visitors.
In addition, the horse racing field assigns a well-trained staff member to each Hequ horse. These staff members were originally experienced herders from the Amuhu Grassland. After receiving professional horseback riding instruction training, they were officially put on duty. Manager Yang said: “The scenic area will definitely make ample preparations and take every precaution regarding visitor safety and the safety of the scenic facilities.”
The sky is vast, the wilderness boundless, the wind blows the grass low to reveal cattle and sheep. The construction of the grassland horse racing field at Amigonghong Scenic Area allows visitors to experience the traditional lifestyle of Tibetan herders while also enjoying the unique thrill of horseback riding through the flower sea.
