Just a 30-second walk from the station！Kyoto welcomes Tokyo’s viral “bookstore capsule hotel”

The capsule hotel “BOOK AND BED TOKYO,” which opened last November in Tokyo’s Ikebukuro, caused an instant sensation. Now, the hotel is expanding to Kyoto, with its second branch set to open in Gion on December 2. Reservations are now open.
“BOOK AND BED TOKYO” is designed as a bookstore you can sleep in, allowing guests to nestle among the bookshelves and drift off to sleep surrounded by an ocean of books. Unlike the Tokyo location, the Kyoto branch offers a new room type—the “river-view room”—so guests can gaze at the scenic beauty of the Kamo River while reading.
Given its concept as a “livable bookstore,” books are naturally a key feature. The Kyoto branch features a large central bookshelf that can hold up to 5,000 volumes, and also offers a selection of locally brewed Kyoto beers for guests to enjoy, creating a distinctly different accommodation atmosphere compared to the Tokyo branch.
