On September 4, a visually stunning documentary interwoven with cold and warmth, extremes and challenges—Ariston Comfort Extreme Challenge: Greenland Mission—premiered at Shanghai’s Buzhi Cinema. Domestic mainstream media, film critics, Ariston national dealers, and partners were invited to the premiere ceremony, sharing in this visual feast. The 4K picture quality of a high-end private cinema and the Dolby Atmos sound effects recreated the breathtaking scene of Greenland’s icy world, immersing attendees in the documentary’s magnificent grandeur and rugged wilderness.

Creating a comfortable space in Greenland opens up more possibilities for global climate research

For thousands of years, humanity has been striving to create comfortable living spaces and pushing the boundaries of comfort without pause. Ariston’s Comfort Extreme Challenge aims to “bring comfort to everyone, in every possibility,” conquering the impossible to achieve more comfort. Ariston’s Comfort Extreme Challenge is far more than an event—it’s a fearless adventure, a meaningful mission. Greenland is a crucial scientific research base for studying global climate change. Climate change research, one of the most important topics of this century, concerns the future of us all. Scientists work year-round here to collect and examine samples of breakthrough discoveries, researching climate change, ecosystems, and their evolution. But during the harsh winter and under extreme environmental conditions, it is nearly impossible for scientists to stay for extended periods, forcing them to interrupt their research. Yet, often, the winter months are the most critical time for scientists to gather new data for the next phase of research. Comfort and warmth are the scientists’ greatest desires on the island. To address this, three of Ariston’s top global technical experts overcame numerous challenges and used Ariston’s cutting-edge condensing wall-hung boilers to build a warm, comfortable space for the global climate research team in Greenland, creating more possibilities for scientific study.

For the research team on the island, comfort means everything; for Ariston, challenging the impossible is about making the world a more comfortable home—even in the freezing reaches of Greenland. After watching the grand, visually and emotionally powerful documentary with guests, Ms. Chen Daoli, President of Ariston China, stated, “Using the power of technology to make the world more comfortable and better is Ariston’s original aspiration and determination to challenge the impossible. The Ariston Comfort Extreme Challenge is a global brand campaign launched by Ariston this year and is the brand’s largest campaign to date. Through this initiative, Ariston hopes to share its comfort-driven brand philosophy with more people, allowing more to enjoy the benefits of ‘ultimate comfort.’”

Challenging true heroes—the true face of the “boiler” mountain

One of the three global technical experts, Huang Yuanshuo from China, shared his challenge journey with guests at the event. It was an adventurous, complex, and winding road full of twists and turns. During the one-month challenge, the Ariston expert team had to rely on various modes of transportation to complete the mission—planes, helicopters, sleds, and even an icebreaker, the only vehicle capable of reaching areas surrounded by fierce storms and sea ice. During the construction of the comfortable space, the team faced two snowstorm attacks, with the newly laid roof disappearing instantly. Installing Ariston’s wall-hung boiler in the comfortable space posed even greater challenges. First, Greenland’s unique environment was a major test of Ariston’s product technology and performance. Because water, electricity, and natural gas resources on the island are extremely scarce, the products must be highly energy-efficient and low-consumption. Moreover, Greenland’s sub-zero temperatures as low as -50°C required special components such as flues, antifreeze agents, radiators, and windproof devices. Additionally, only liquefied petroleum gas canisters could be used on the island, so the wall-hung boiler had to be modified... For technical experts like Huang Yuanshuo, it was a huge challenge to their professional skills, a major test of teamwork, and a breakthrough in courage and determination. “When I saw the happiness and joy on the scientists’ faces as they entered the comfortable space, I felt that all the effort and hard work were worth it,” Huang Yuanshuo said with emotion.

Another “protagonist” of this Comfort Extreme Challenge—the Ariston condensing wall-hung boiler ALTEAS ONE—showcased its technological innovation and flagship status, bringing a unique warmth and comfort to Greenland’s frigid, ice-covered environment, truly extending Ariston’s brand philosophy of “comfort in every possibility” to every corner of the world. This product is equipped with cutting-edge European condensing technology, featuring a patented XTRATECH™ main heat exchanger, an innovative IGNITION SYSTEM combustion control system, and cloud-based smart connectivity. A fusion of multiple core technologies. Like other Ariston products, ALTEAS ONE was also designed by Italian master designer Umberto Palermo, maintaining the brand’s consistent stylish and elegant Italian design. The product performs outstandingly in the global market, especially in China, where since its launch last year, it has been a market “bestseller.” Whether it’s its powerful black technology or attractive aesthetics, it is a peerless masterpiece.

Of course, the real unsung heroes are the scientists who give up comfortable urban life and conduct global climate research in the harsh polar environment year after year. The Ariston Comfort Space not only serves as a resting place for researchers but will also function as a research station for storing and analyzing collected data. “The demand for comfort is growing worldwide, and there is an urgent need for innovative energy-saving and environmentally friendly technologies to improve our planet and achieve sustainable growth,” said Massimiliano Fugini, Head of Brand Marketing at Ariston Group. “Building the Ariston Comfort Space is not just about supporting a research team, but also a significant step in supporting Arctic ecosystem research. The research team from the University of Copenhagen has opened up new avenues for climate change discoveries. These findings will help us better understand our current environment and how we, as humans, can strive to prevent the adverse effects of climate change.”
