Grass East Makes a Splash at 2018’s Eight Major Outdoor Music Festivals

The second half of 2018 features many grand outdoor music festivals worth visiting—not just the Gongliao Ocean Music Festival, but also international-level world electronic music festivals, various world music festivals featuring ethnic music collections, and the indie-spirited Nomadic Forest Music Festival. From mainstream, indie, to electronic music, the second half of the year is packed with excitement.

1. Gongliao Ocean Music Festival
The “New Taipei City Gongliao International Ocean Music Festival,” the most highly anticipated music event of summer among fans, returns for three days of non-stop performances at Fulong Beach in Gongliao. This year, it has invited a lineup of big-name stars, including Eggplant Egg, Atom Panda, Xiao Yu, Namewee (Huang Mingzhi), BOXING, Chairman Band, as well as the Lion Choir led by Show Lo.

2. Unite With TomorrowlandTomorrowland Electronic Music Festival
Belgium’s electronic music extravaganza Unite With Tomorrowland is a must-visit festival for EDM fans and a dream stage for top DJs worldwide. Each year features stunning stage designs and high-energy EDM tracks. The event uniquely connects countries around the globe through spectacular lighting and fantastical effects broadcast from its Belgian home base, making it the world’s only real-time, zero-lag EDM celebration.

3. Road to Ultra
Ultra Music Festival is an internationally renowned music festival brand, known for bringing together the highest caliber of artists and performing in nearly 20 cities worldwide. Visitors can experience an international EDM spectacle up close, especially as Dajia Riverside Park hosts a two-day event with even greater scale, dazzling lights, and powerful music.

4. Nomadic Forest Music Festival
The first-ever Nomadic Forest Music Festival in 2018 takes place at National Chi-Nan University, known for its vast grassy fields and rich natural atmosphere. It is Taiwan’s first large-scale music celebration away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The lineup includes independent artists and bands such as Grass East (No Party For Cao Dong), Fire EX., and Hello Nico.
