Spectacular fireworks all the way to the end of the year！2018 Penghu Island Carnival

The Penghu International Maritime Fireworks Festival held every year from April to June is a major tourism event. As summer vacation begins, the Penghu County Government, aiming to extend the tourism boom from the fireworks festival and in conjunction with the World’s Most Beautiful Bays Carnival, has specially organized the “2018 Island Carnival” starting in August. In addition, the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration will also coordinate the planning of the Penghu International Bay Lights Festival.

A total of 12 events have been planned for the “2018 Island Carnival.” The first event will be held on August 6 at Jibei Islet in Baisha Township. The main venue in Magong City, Guanyin Pavilion, will also host 6 events in coordination with major occasions such as Qixi Valentine’s Day on August 17, the opening ceremony of the World’s Most Beautiful Bays Carnival on September 27, and other related events.

Except for the 15-minute fireworks display at the opening of the World’s Most Beautiful Bays Carnival on September 27, all other 11 events will feature 10-minute fireworks shows. This allows travelers to experience a vacation surrounded by islands and ocean in Penghu—whether for family fun, group travel, friends’ getaways, or romantic holidays—so everyone can deeply enjoy the charm of Penghu in summer and autumn.

In addition, the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration’s Autumn Madness series this year also includes the “2018 Penghu International Bay Lights Festival,” featuring 12 light shows performed from the end of September to early November at Xiyinhong Bridge by Guanyin Pavilion. The event combines fireworks and lights for a joint performance, creating new topics for Penghu’s summer and autumn tourism.
