Taiwan’s Largest “Golden Corn Chicken Maze” Is Perfect for Tackling After Christmas

Experience a maze adventure like being on a foreign farm or in a movie — now you can enjoy it in Taiwan too.Taiwan’s version of the cornfield maze, “Golden Corn Chicken Maze,” covers an area of 12 hectares, making it the largest in the country. It will open on December 10th and offer a “free trial walk” in the corn maze, available until February 24, 2017.Visitors who experience the maze from December 10 to 23 can take a photo, check in on Facebook, and redeem a challenge voucher at the Maze Treasure House. Starting December 24, the maze will officially open with free admission.

Yizhu Township has created an engaging corn maze by integrating local industry.The “Golden Corn Chicken Maze” pathway is approximately 6 kilometers long, the most challenging in its four-year history, offering a thrilling adventure that tests your sense of direction and stamina.When you’re tired of exploring, the “Golden Corn Chicken Maze” features a maze coffee bar built from two stacked containers, offering free-flow roasted coffee, static exhibits of corn growth products, and a 360-degree observation deck for visitors to overlook the entire maze.

To welcome the next zodiac animal, the Rooster, this year’s maze design features a pattern of roosters, hens, and chicks, interwoven with the fields. Although planting was delayed due to Typhoon Megi and the corn is only knee-high, many families have still come to take on the challenge. Organizers stated,they expect the corn to grow to adult shoulder height after Christmas, and the towering corn walls will be the perfect time for tackling the maze.

Qiu Canglang, chairman of the organizing Humanistic Education Foundation, emphasized strong support and positive feedback from the local community. This year, the corn maze continues to operate through ticketing and consumption discounts. Liu Junyi, CEO of the nonprofit Humanistic Education Foundation, also noted that from December 24 to February 24, 2017, the ticket price has been adjusted to 100 NTD, which can be used as a 50 NTD discount on purchases.
