Last updated 2026-09-26 — In Nantun District, Taichung City, there is a dessert shop that looks like an ordinary residential house but is actually a low-key dessert spot. It sells a "Taiwan Lemon Tart," where a green chocolate in the shape of Taiwan is placed on top of a yellow lemon tart, creating an adorable visual that makes it hard to take a bite—and has sparked an IG check-in craze. Not only is it photogenic, but the tart’s crispy crust and tangy filling offer a delightful taste that lingers.

Hidden in Nantun District, Taichung City, there is a dessert shop that looks like a regular home but is actually a modest dessert spot. It sells a particularly special "Taiwan Lemon Tart," where a green chocolate in the shape of Taiwan is placed on top of a yellow lemon tart, creating an adorable visual that makes it hard to eat—and has sparked an IG check-in craze. Not only is it photogenic, but the tart’s crispy crust and tangy filling offer a delightful taste that lingers. For those who fear too much sourness, you can eat it together with the "Taiwan" chocolate on top. When asked why she incorporated Taiwan into her dessert creativity, the owner Carrie responded that most lemon tarts sold elsewhere look similar and generic. She wanted to convey the diligent and down-to-earth spirit of Taiwanese people, so she found inspiration in "Taiwan." Combining Taiwan with the lemon tart was a brand-new attempt.

Each dessert in the shop is unique, and the offerings vary daily. Carrie said the designed sweets follow a simple and unpretentious style, hoping customers can taste warmth in them. In addition to the "Taiwan Lemon Tart," another recommended item is the "Thai Milk Tea Fresh Cheese Tart," which Carrie personally brought back tea leaves from Thailand to make by hand. It has a rich aroma of Thai milk tea, and every bite conveys sincerity without being overly sweet—perfect for an afternoon tea treat. In celebration of the upcoming Christmas season, the shop also offers a limited-time "Red Wine Pear Tart." Customized desserts are also available as a service, though it’s recommended to place orders at least three days in advance. To allow people across Taiwan to enjoy these treats, the shop also partners with Black Cat Courier for deliveries.

The owner, Carrie, is young and unmarried, so why is the shop called "Couple-Face"? The origin is quite amusing. The name was originally conceived by her sister and brother-in-law, but over the time the shop has been open, they’ve seen many customers go from being single to finding a partner. Some even had their first date here—and after the date, it went from “me” to “us.” So, they decided to keep the name "Couple-Face" in hopes of bringing full-of-happiness energy to customers.
