Working holiday gets a new option. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Taiwan and the Czech Republic have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on youth working holiday on the 28th. It applies to youths aged 18 to 26 (inclusive), with a maximum stay of one year from the date the visa is issued. Implementation is expected to begin in April 2016.

The Memorandum of Understanding on youth working holiday between Taiwan and the Czech Republic will take effect in April 2016. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will announce the specific implementation date and related application procedures at that time. It is hoped that young people from both countries can apply to visit each other’s country under the principle of “holiday as the main purpose, work as a supplement,” and experience local life, customs, social trends, cultural traditions, and learn each other’s languages through tourism, short-term study, and temporary employment.

Additionally, the Czech Republic is the ninth European country and the fourteenth in the world to sign a youth working holiday agreement (memorandum) with us, following Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, and Austria.
