Tropical depression warning: Cloudy with rain, unstable weather

In addition, the Central Weather Bureau has issued a tropical depression advisory. Tropical Depression 998 hPa is located at 23.9°N, 117.6°E, approximately 102 kilometers southwest of Kinmen over land. The center moved into mainland China’s Fujian Province at 14:00 on the 18th, moving northeast at 15 km/h. Whether it will develop into a typhoon remains to be observed, but it will contribute to the week’s weather instability. Ships sailing or operating in the Taiwan Strait, Dongsha Island sea area, and Guangdong sea area should exercise caution.

On the 20th–21st, influenced again by the southwest monsoon, central and southern as well as southeastern regions will experience brief showers or thunderstorms. Other regions will mostly be cloudy to sunny, with localized brief thunderstorms in the afternoon and a chance of heavier rainfall. From the 22nd to the 25th, southern and southeastern areas will have localized brief showers, while other areas will mostly be cloudy to sunny, with some brief afternoon thunderstorms. On the 20th–21st, there is also a chance of long waves along the northern and northeastern coasts, so please stay alert.

Temperatures will range around 26–32°C, with central and southern regions possibly reaching up to 34°C. From the 23rd–24th, Saturday and Sunday, the weather across Taiwan will remain quite unstable, with chances of rain. Those planning outdoor trips should prepare rain contingency plans.
