Among the dozen or so stalls at the Christmas Market—some selling cookies, some desserts, some souvenirs, and even a photo experience booth—here are the reporter’s top three favorite foods: flambéed galette, mulled wine, and French crêpes.

Le Flam’s Alsatian “traditional flambéed galette” is arguably the hottest item at this Christmas Market. Its unique, thin and crispy crust is cooked with yogurt, onions, and bacon, offering a refreshing taste. The tanginess of the yogurt balances the saltiness of the bacon, and there’s also a “rich cheese galette” topped with Emmental, priced at NT$100 and NT$150 per piece respectively, or NT$350–NT$400 for a full serving (about six pieces).

The mulled wine offered at the same stall is made with red wine, orange slices, and spices. It lacks the usual tartness of wine and instead offers the fresh aroma of oranges, with a strong but not overpowering cinnamon flavor. It’s smooth and warming, making you feel immersed in festive Christmas cheer. Each cup is NT$100.

Meanwhile, “Wheatfield French Bakery,” located near the Songzhi Road side entrance, sells French-style crêpes in three flavors: classic sugar, hazelnut chocolate spread, and strawberry jam. The most popular is the hazelnut chocolate spread crêpe, which features an elastic crust with slightly crisp, caramelized edges for added texture. The rich hazelnut chocolate filling is flavorful yet not overly heavy—a wildly popular treat.

However, based on the reporter’s weekend evening experience, the wait for crêpes can exceed an hour, and the flambéed galette isn’t much better. After taking a number, the staff will estimate how long you should wait before returning. In the meantime, consider taking photos nearby or browsing other stalls for souvenirs or cookies to snack on while you wait.
