Known as the “LV of pizzas,” this handmade wood-fired pizza from Milan, Italy, is tucked away on the second floor of Shiping Street. Beneath it lies a bustling area filled with noisy street vendors, but despite being only on the second floor, the shop is unusually quiet. The interior is arranged in a square layout with chefs cooking in the center, and customers can even watch the entire wood-fired pizza-making process, ensuring delicious food along with peace of mind. Below is an introduction to this seasonal Fig Pizza.
Many people may have tried sweet pizzas before, but usually the flavor options are limited — typically just chocolate, marshmallows, and bananas. However, the sweet pizzas at this Milan-style wood-fired pizza place in Italy vary with the seasons and always incorporate fruits that are in season. “In summer we have mango, and by Christmas we offer strawberries, figs, as well as dried lychee flavors,” said the owner and culinary R&D consultant, Jiang Juncheng, proudly.

The reporter tried this Fig Pizza and found it not only rich in flavor but also topped with figs, blackcurrants, redcurrants, and the tangy sweetness of wild berries, creating a wonderfully layered taste. It’s drizzled with French whipped cream, which is light and completely free of greasiness. Most uniquely, this pizza is served cold!
“A good pizza crust still tastes great even when eaten cold,” Jiang Juncheng laughed. Having fallen in love with food, he transitioned from the media industry into the culinary world and has helped many people start their own businesses. He now runs dozens of restaurants and has his own successful formula. When asked why he chose to open a shop in such an unassuming location, he revealed his simple philosophy for choosing locations: just seven words — “My motto is ‘mountains, seaside, and fields.’ I want to open shops in places where there aren’t many people. If you don’t come, fine — but if you do, you’ll be hooked, and you’ll definitely want to come back!” Currently, he has one location each in Taipei and Hengchun, with plans to open another in Taichung and eventually expand into mainland China.
