Located on the mountainside of the Izu Peninsula, Shida Park spans a vast area and is home to 150,000 plants of over 100 varieties—totaling around 3 million hydrangeas. Every June, the park hosts a Hydrangea Festival, where the entire grounds are blanketed with a profusion of colorful blossoms, creating a truly spectacular sight.

Shida Park boasts a unique geographical location, facing Shimoda Port and the Susaki Peninsula. From its elevated observation deck, visitors can gaze out over the entire harbor and seascape through a veil of hydrangeas. The park is lined with old pines, cherry blossoms, camellias, azaleas, and hydrangeas, making it a renowned flower-viewing destination in Japan.
