New Travel Option to Japan: Two Airlines Launch New Routes

Anticipating the growing trend of Taiwanese tourists traveling to Japan, low-cost carriers Tigerair Taiwan and Mandarin Airlines (a subsidiary of China Airlines) will launch new routes to Japan in June and July. These include Tigerair’s “Taoyuan–Saga” and “Kaohsiung–Nagoya” routes, as well as Mandarin Airlines’ “Taichung–Tokyo” route.

Mandarin Airlines
Mandarin Airlines announced that starting June 14, it will launch a new “Taichung–Tokyo” route, operating daily flights between Taichung and Tokyo Narita Airport, with seven flights per week. Flight AE226 departs Taichung at 7:30 AM and arrives in Tokyo at 12:00 PM. It then returns from Tokyo at 1:00 PM, arriving back in Taichung at 3:50 PM, with a flight duration of approximately 3.5 hours.

In addition, to celebrate the 2018 Taichung Flower Expo, Mandarin Airlines has partnered again with the Taichung City Government to launch the “Flowers in Taichung Livery – Flower Expo Cabin” campaign. This is the first plane in Taiwan to feature a city’s name flying in the skies, and the Flower Expo cabin is also themed with the Formosan clouded leopard and omi-ma as its main design elements.

Tigerair Taiwan
Tigerair Taiwan announced that starting July, it will launch two new scheduled charter routes: “Taoyuan–Saga” and “Kaohsiung–Nagoya,” and on May 29 launched promotional ticket sales starting at NT$1,799 and NT$2,899 respectively.

For the initial period of the “Taoyuan–Saga” scheduled charter route, there will be two weekly flights, on Thursdays and Sundays. The outbound flight IT8246 departs Taoyuan Airport at 7:00 AM (8:05 AM on Sundays); the return flight IT8247 departs Saga Airport at 11:25 AM (12:30 PM on Sundays).
 
 
For the initial period of the “Kaohsiung–Nagoya” scheduled charter route, there will be two weekly flights, on Thursdays and Sundays. The outbound flight IT8268 departs Kaohsiung Airport at 1:20 PM; the return flight IT8269 departs Nagoya Chubu Centrair Airport at 6:25 PM.
