The Chiayi University Insect Museum on the campus of Chiayi University creates an interactive space where visitors can engage directly with insect ecosystems. The museum is divided into sections including conservation insect models, the rotating colorful butterfly column, domestic and international insect specimen displays, aquatic live insects, and a butterfly greenhouse garden. The most eye-catching attraction is the world’s first “Rotating Colorful Butterfly Column.”

The insect museum houses thousands of rare insect species and offers educational, recreational, ecological, and conservation value, making it well worth a visit.

The greenhouse garden features a unique circular design, simulating a mid-to-low altitude native forest habitat with up to 25 species of butterflies and the host plants needed for butterfly larvae. The interior of the sphere is designed with a circular walkway, allowing visitors to admire the butterflies up close while strolling.

The greenhouse features gently sloped pathways that guide visitors from the first-floor aquatic insect display area up to the second-floor insect resource industry zone. Along the way, there are also waterfalls, ponds, and observation decks.
