Travel Center / Comprehensive Report
Created by the popular French chef Gontran Cherrier, his namesake bakery is famed for having the "best croissants in Paris." Since opening on July 10, GC's croissants have drawn long lines whenever they come out of the oven, with an average of 1,200 sold daily. In addition to its Zhongxiao flagship store, GC will pop up at Banqiao Big City Mall from December 10 to 25, offering a limited-edition strawberry croissant — not available at the flagship store until after the 25th.
Following the launch of four types of bread using local Taiwanese ingredients—Oolong Beauty tea, basil, sweet potato, and pork floss—at its July opening, Chef Gontran Cherrier spent four months developing a new creation: a croissant starring scallions, whose aroma complements the flaky texture of GC’s signature croissants.

Additionally, the King’s Tart and Gugelhupf are GC’s new winter offerings. The King’s Tart is a traditional French New Year’s dessert, with legend saying that whoever finds the figurine or ring inside will be lucky all year. The Gugelhupf, originally an Austrian royal dessert, resembles a crown and is a richly aromatic European-style country cake.
