Decorative transformation time!A DIY bird-fishing toy that babies just can’t put down

The soft, bright polka-dot fabric birds are filled with mom’s love for Bobo.

The title of this article is super long, and there’s a reason for that—here comes story time from Bobo’s mom.

The bird pendant was made by Bobo’s mom when she was pregnant, intended to hang above Bobo’s crib so he’d have something cute to play with and look at when awake, surrounded by his mom’s love.
The method is simple, adapted from an out-of-print craft book.
Later, I found a Taiwanese reprint, seemingly by the same author—interested moms can check it out.
Book title: The Best Gift a Mom Can Give: DIY Sewing Love Clothes, Toys & Daily Essentials (ISBN: 9789866056994)

Materials: various colored cotton fabrics (for the body), various colored felt (for the beak, wings, and tail), small beads (for the eyes), ribbon, and cotton stuffing.

With these parts, you can sew a little bird.

Instructions:
1.
Pay attention to sewing the tail/mouth/small ribbon along the seams as well.
Remember to leave a small hole for turning.
3. Turn the sewn bird body right side out, stuff it with an appropriate amount of cotton, then close the turning hole with invisible stitches to finish.

The ornament hasn’t had a chance to be hung up yet, so we took it out to take some photos with Bobo to prove that mom actually made it.

Talking to the little bird.

Bobo even pouted—how adorable (okay, mom, that’s enough!)

Bobo: Mom, are you done playing yet?!

BUT, plans always fall behind changes.
)

The forgotten bird ornament wasn’t remembered until Bobo turned 1 year and 3 months old. That’s when Bobo’s mom thought of it again and decided to modify it into a bird-hanging game for Bobo to play with.

Materials are: the bird ornament / balloon stick / magnets / yarn / scrap fabric.

First, make the fishing rod.

Sew two water-drop-shaped pieces of felt together to form a small pouch, wrapping the magnet inside.

Cut three strands of yarn and tie them onto the balloon stick.

Braiding them makes it sturdier.

For the bird ornaments, unpick the stitching from the backside one by one, insert the magnets, then sew them back up.

Toy tester Bobo is conducting a test. (That was already half a year ago—how time flies~) (It’s just that Bobo’s mom posts updates too slowly…)

This game is not only loved by babies but is also a favorite of cats.
)

Are you fishing for little birds or kittens, Bobo? XD
