![[Little Qianqian’s Classroom]Stamp Painting – Beautiful Roses!!](/travel/pic/20180527/4e47c2cc1e9f5182284ebf28b9356487.jpg)
Today’s star is it — “the stem end of bok choy”!!!
It was one day when I was preparing dinner and noticed the bok choy that had been cut off, and I had a sudden flash of inspiration,
suddenly remembering that when I was a child, I used to play a stamping game with those stem ends.
So I quickly fished them out from the sink,
washed and drained them, and put them in a container (so they wouldn’t wilt by the next day when we wanted to play).
What kind of magical things can it turn into???
Let’s find out together...
Well, first let Xiao Qianqian introduce what materials we need to prepare this time???
1. Drawing paper — one sheet
2. Crayon (brown) — one stick
3. Bok choy stem ends — two to three (about 3cm long are easier to hold)
4. Four-cup holder — one (★Note 1)
5. Paint — two to four colors
6. Sponge — one large piece (★Note 2)
7. Scissors
★Note 1:
Since we don’t have a watercolor palette at home, I used the stand from the soy milk I bought in the morning,
which has big compartments, so it’s actually perfect for holding watercolors for kids’ stamp painting fun!)
★Note 2:
Sponges are available at stationery stores, and there are many types!)
If you want to go more professional, just buy three or four round sponges directly; otherwise, you can also buy square ones and cut them, which is also fine~~;
If you prefer to keep it casual, the sponge on the back of a scouring pad or a car wash sponge can also do the trick (and car wash sponges are cheaper too XD)
HOW TO DO?
Step 1:
Scoop a little bit of paint + a tiny bit of water (better to add slowly than to accidentally add too much), then place the sponge on it and press to soak up the color.
The materials are all ready now!!!
Little reminder
Xiao Qianqian’s mommy suggests not preparing too many colors at the beginning,
because kids are naturally curious, and sooner or later they’ll definitely end up mashing multiple colors together.
Then things get hectic for the adults, either trying to keep up or even starting a fire!!
Step 2: Ask the child to draw several straight lines (?) on the drawing paper to represent tree branches.
Time to start stamping~~~~ Little Qianqian is super excited!!! (Casually introduce the colors along the way~~~ haha)
Step 3: Press the bok choy onto the sponge, choose a good spot, and then press down firmly!!
Little Reminder
At first, you can demonstrate the process once for the child,
and they will definitely think: “Wow~~ so ”cool”!!! (with eyes full of admiration)”
Then help the child press a bit harder when stamping, and soon enough, they’ll get the hang of it and the right amount of pressure!!
Yay~~ it’s done!!!!
Finally, add some green leaves here and there to make the colors even richer~~!! (You can also skip this part)
Reflections
Little Qianqian has always loved the action of stamping,
whether at train stations, homestays, shops…..
Basically, anything that looks like it can be stamped, he’s eager to give it a try!
So he really enjoyed this little game,
playing non-stop!! (and has been asking to play again ever since....)
It’s quite heartwarming to revisit something you used to do as a kid together~~
Let him go wild with the stamping (just don’t let the flowers overlap too much XD)
And in the end, we ended up with “orange” too~~ (luckily not black =_=””)
That’s also a kind of special color-mixing learning experience!!
