Whenever a special holiday approaches, I always want to use parent-child DIY activities to help the kids better understand the unique significance of the festival. And once an idea comes to mind, I start rummaging through the house, hoping to find recyclable items that can be used. Using a baby bottle brush was one such spontaneous idea, and I never expected the result to turn out so well.
Materials: scissors, glue, 101 building pattern, watercolor paints, baby bottle brush, cotton swabs, black construction paper
First, glue the 101 building image onto the black construction paper.
– Squeeze several colors of watercolor paint onto a plate –
– Kids aren’t great at controlling pressure yet, so just squeeze a little of each color –
– Stir slightly to create streaks of different colors, but don’t mix them too evenly –
– The little girl is busy too XD –
– Dip the baby bottle brush into the stirred paint and press it directly onto the paper. My little one even shouted “Whoosh bang~ Whoosh bang~” while stamping –
– Who knew this recycled baby bottle brush would work so well –
– This is just the shape of the sparks; the colors aren’t vibrant enough yet –
– Squeeze the desired colors separately into the plate, keeping them unmixed. Let the child choose brighter colors –
– Dip a cotton swab into a bit of paint and lightly dot it on the sparks –
– Look how beautiful these fireworks are –
– Capture a mischievous expression too –
– Finally, a close-up shot. Doesn’t it have a great vibe… –
Light up your own fireworks with your kids!
