Near the Taoyuan Arts and Cultural District, on a bustling street in the downtown area, there’s a DreamsWorks Kids’ Themed Restaurant — not only filled with play facilities for children, but also offering DIY activities perfect for family fun and parent-child interaction. Designed with parent-child interaction in mind, DreamsWorks Kids’ Themed Restaurant is run by owner Tammy, who has three children. When planning the space, she set aside about 40% of the restaurant’s area to create a kids’ play zone. With help from professional playground designers, the space is divided into two main areas: “The ball pit zone is for older kids, while the toddler zone allows parents to play with younger children.” Furthermore, the toys used in the play area are carefully selected. The restaurant doesn’t cut costs, using only SGS-certified products, and all equipment and environments meet strict safety standards. Toys are disinfected twice daily and rotated regularly to ensure peace of mind for every parent.

When asked why she chose to open the restaurant here, Tammy said she had long felt that there were far too few family-friendly restaurants in Taoyuan, forcing families to travel to other cities for similar experiences. As a mother herself, she empathized and hoped that residents wouldn’t have to go far. That’s what ultimately led her to open the restaurant here.

In addition to play facilities, the restaurant actively promotes parent-child DIY activities. While such activities often cost over 100 NT$ elsewhere, Tammy kindly offers a free DIY session with any kids’ meal priced at 250 NT$. There are up to five types of DIY activities available, including balloon making and planting small potted plants.
