Now is the perfect time to visit Wuling Farm in Taichung to admire the autumn foliage. From November to mid-December has traditionally been the best period for leaf-peeping at Wuling Farm,This year, not only are the crimson maple leaves still drawing crowds, but the green ginkgo trees gradually turning golden have also sparked a photography craze. Plus, this year’s cherry blossoms have bloomed earlier than usual, so you can head up the mountain to witness the rare sight of maple reds and cherry blossoms coexisting!

Located in Taichung, Wuling Farm has long been a popular destination for tourists to admire both autumn foliage and cherry blossoms. Its high-altitude location between 1,700 and 2,200 meters creates unique natural landscapes. With the changing seasons, it showcases four major features: “spring flowers,” “summer fruits,” “autumn foliage,” and “winter snow,” among which the deep autumn red maples attract numerous photography enthusiasts.

Due to the slower cooling of the weather this year, the farm’s maple leaves only began turning from yellow to red in late November, so the optimal time for viewing has shifted to the end of December. Coupled with the surrounding green woods, the scenery becomes even more breathtaking with splashes of red, yellow, orange, and green. The farm also has large areas of ginkgo forests, adding even more color to the mountainside. The golden ginkgo leaves are especially dazzling in the sunlight, leaving visitors exclaiming, “So beautiful!”

According to Wuling Farm,the best spots for viewing maple foliage are Xingshi Garden near the visitor center, while those wanting to admire the golden ginkgo forests should head to the farm’s administrative building, also known as the headquarters.Photography enthusiasts are advised to plan their trip within this week, as the farm’s cherry blossom season won’t reach its peak until at least February.

Also, since mountain areas are quite cold, with average temperatures around 15°C, visitors heading up for the scenery are reminded to bring warm clothing—it’s not worth catching a cold after taking those beautiful photos!
