It has been raining nonstop lately, so we took advantage of a rare sunny weekend to bring our family to the “Miaoli Hakka Cultural Park” for some fun. I just have to say, the children’s museum here is really great — there are educational toys, picture books, and a huge slide for little ones to play on. Plus, there are plenty of interactive multimedia games to enjoy as well.

First up is the “Kitchen Experience Area,” where kids can learn how food is cooked. It’s something we never noticed before when visiting with our child, but they were fascinated. They even got to cook something themselves.
They can also try their hand at stamp printing.
Liàngliàng, who loves drawing, was especially fond of this part. She picked up crayons and went wild with coloring, then got to stamp the patterns onto paper. So much fun up there!!
Then you can stamp your own exclusive seal ~ and it’s done up!!
Next is the Temple Courtyard Play Area.
The Temple Courtyard Play Area features many interactive mini-games that help kids learn more about Taiwan’s unique temple worship culture.
In the Land Life Area, there’s an adorable statue of the Earth God, and kids can even try fortune-telling too.
What really impressed us the most was the Sunny & Rainy Reading & Farming Area.
Besides picture books for the kids, there are also educational toys to play with here. The dressing board helps children practice buttoning up, training their fine motor skills. There are also building blocks for the little ones to play with.
Then comes Liàngliàng’s favorite secret base area. As soon as you walk in, you see this cute frog. That’s right — it’s a super fun slide!! Liàngliàng absolutely loves slides, so she kept going down again and again, completely forgetting about mom and dad.
But parents don’t need to worry about being bored either, because there are plenty of interactive mini-games around to play. Ha, so I ended up playing along too.
Although we’ve visited the “Miaoli Hakka Cultural Park” several times before, we found that the “Children’s Museum” seems to get renovated every once in a while, featuring different themes. This time the theme was super fun, so we ended up spending a lot of time in the children’s museum. Plus, the park doesn’t charge an entrance fee, and it wasn’t very crowded on the weekend, making it a perfect spot for a family outing with kids.
The 228 Holiday is coming up soon. Hurry up and plan a trip to Miaoli.
