Located near National Chung Hsing University in Taichung, Jimmy’s Submarine Sandwich is a favorite among local students for its affordable, oversized meals. For just over 100 NT dollars, you get a generous serving of lettuce, 2 to 4 slices of beef, pork, or cod, all stacked up larger than a face – no skimping on ingredients, making every bite super satisfying.

The menu is packed with options, and first-timers might feel overwhelmed. Meat lovers can go for the burger selection, while veggie fans should definitely try the submarine sandwiches. There are plenty of burger choices: beef cheeseburger, pork cheeseburger, cod cheeseburger, chicken teriyaki cheeseburger, Osaka pork cheeseburger, crispy chicken leg cheeseburger, blue ribbon pork cheeseburger, Jimmy’s pork chop cheeseburger... and more. Standard portions might not be enough, but at Jimmy’s, you can customize – all can be upgraded to double, triple, or even quadruple patties, with an incredible amount of meat.

Not only that, there’s a hidden menu where you can get two types of meat in one burger, such as cod and beef combo. A four-layer burger costs around 200 NT à la carte, or about 300 NT even with a combo meal (including fries and soda). It’s a bit cheaper than typical American-style burgers, but the portion is more than double – no wonder it’s so popular with students.

The shop is named after submarine sandwiches, and naturally, they don’t skimp on those either.
