Koh Samui is Thailand’s third-largest island, surrounded by over 80 tropical islands of various sizes. Previously, Taiwanese travelers had to transit via Bangkok, Thailand, or Hong Kong to reach Koh Samui, with flight durations of up to seven hours, no direct baggage check-through, and complicated entry and exit procedures. However, starting next year, island tourism operators will collaborate with Thai airline RAirlines (Sky Surat Thani Airlines) to launch direct flights from Taiwan to Koh Samui Airport, offering early departure and late return itineraries. The flight time will be significantly reduced to just 4 hours.

In addition to being a haven for snorkelers, Koh Samui also offers opportunities for independent travel by renting local motorcycles or joining package tours, such as visiting Ang Thong National Marine Park or going on a full-day canoe trip. Other must-visit attractions on Koh Samui include the 40-meter-tall Big Buddha; the Nam Tok Na Muang waterfall hidden in the jungle; and the natural rock formations of Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks.
