227 Rare Treasures Make Their Debut at the Natural History Museum Exhibition in Taiwan

After the mysterious mummies from the British Museum that were exhibited in Taiwan earlier this year, Taiwan has once again collaborated with the Natural History Museum, London, to bring 227 rare treasures across the ocean for their first-ever special exhibition in Taiwan — “The Natural History Museum Exhibition.” Every exhibit carries behind it an exciting story of adventure, making this a must-see heavyweight exhibition this summer.

Founded in 1881, the Natural History Museum in London draws its original collections from the natural history section of the British Museum and houses the world’s most scientifically significant and comprehensive collection of natural history specimens. From a collection of over 80 million items, 227 rare treasures have been carefully selected for this touring exhibition, with Taipei serving as the final stop of the Asian leg.

Exhibits coming to Taiwan include the dodo — the first recorded bird to go extinct due to human hunting — rarely seen cat mummies, a cursed amethyst crystal, the saber-toothed tiger from the animated movie *Ice Age*, and the giant flightless bird, the moa. Each piece tells a story of curiosity and exploration, revealing past challenges faced by the Earth and the ecological tests humanity will face in the future.
