Japan’s Hydrangea Seas in Taiwan ! A 2,000-Ping Taiwanese Version of Monet’s Garden

Former Taipei County Magistrate Zhou Xiwei dreamed of creating a distinctive garden and has built Taiwan’s first “Flower and Bird Garden,” a flatland temperate garden in Guanxi Township, Hsinchu. It not only cultivates common outdoor flowering plants native to the island but also introduces uniquely exceptional Japanese floral varieties. The garden nurtures tens of thousands of hydrangeas and features a fusion of floral displays, art, and a specialty dining restaurant.

The Flower and Bird Garden is hailed as Guanxi Town’s Monet-style flower garden. Currently in full hydrangea bloom, it has specially imported hydrangeas from Japan’s Kamo Garden to create a unique hydrangea attraction.

Additionally, the park features Taiwan’s only hanging basket flower area, blooming with flowers such as browallia, crabapple, hibiscus, balsam, glory bower, and kidney fern. There is also a rich variety of floral species, including over 200 types of pansies, over 200 types of crabapple, more than 50 types of Japanese irises, and over 300 types of hydrangeas.
