Japanese gashapon have taken the world by storm, even attracting many tourists to Japan just to experience the fun. The beloved “Slurping Animals” series, which previously sparked a gashapon craze in Taiwan, is back again—not only are the Slurping Animals featured as giant, life-sized figures showcased in Taiwan, but they’ve also teamed up with other characters from “Gashapon Planet” to create five major exhibition zones, making it a must-visit photo hotspot this summer.

The 2018 “Gashapon Planet Special Exhibition” will open simultaneously at Taipei Huashan 1914 Creative Park and Kaohsiung Pier-2 Art Center in late June. This year’s event combines six of Taiwan’s most popular gashapon series, including “Hibernating Animals,” “Gashapon Planet,” “Too Free Goddess,” “Moai Sundae,” “Chubby Green Soldiers,” and “Fruit Zombies.” These will be displayed across five themed zones, showcasing nearly 30 giant, life-sized gashapon plush figures for visitors to take fun photos with. Additionally, for the first time ever, original creator drafts will be on public display, guaranteeing an unforgettable and delightful experience.

This exhibition will open simultaneously at Taipei Huashan 1914 Creative Park and Kaohsiung Pier-2 Art Zone, allowing fans from both northern and southern Taiwan to enjoy the fun of gashapon. The venue features multiple realistic scenes tailored to different gashapon stars, creating diverse and dreamy photo hotspots. With a humorous and heartwarming comedic style and interactive play themes, visitors can not only take photos but also engage in playful interactions with the gashapon characters—making for a truly unique experience.
