Another international landmark added to the list: Taiwan’s first-ever ClubMed seaside resort

The French hotel brand Club Med, the world’s largest holiday resort chain, has recently announced its entry into Pingtung’s Dapeng Bay Scenic Area. It has signed an agreement with the Dapeng Bay BOT operator, Dapeng Bay International Development Corporation, investing $75 million USD to build Taiwan’s first-ever Club Med resort.

Club Med operates over 70 resorts worldwide, most notably known for its G.O. (Gentil Organisateur) all-inclusive holiday service. The brand takes care of every aspect of the trip for guests — from booking flights and handling visas to organizing a wide variety of land and water activities — offering a globally unique professionally guided experience.

The Club Med Dapeng Bay Seaside Resort will be constructed in the You San Area, adjacent to the land near the Cross-Strait Bridge. Covering a vast area of 20 hectares, the resort will offer a romantic seaside escape with breathtaking ocean views. Designed by a French design firm, the resort will elevate Dapeng Bay into an international destination and, in coordination with the upcoming yacht berthing facilities, develop tours to destinations such as Pingtung and Little Liuqiu.

The 2019 Taiwan Lantern Festival will be held in Dapeng Bay, and the resort site will be adjusted accordingly. The festival will also serve to promote the Club Med resort, using the global brand to attract more international visitors. Construction of the resort is expected to begin by the end of 2018 and to be completed by 2020.
