Nijo Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was found in April last year to have over 50 instances of vandalism and the scattering of "powder of an unidentified matcha color." Police investigations revealed that the perpetrators were three Taiwanese women!

Staff at Nijo Castle discovered that the "Ninomaru Palace," one of Japan’s national treasures, had been maliciously vandalized, leading to an emergency closure for tourist visits. After a lengthy investigation, the case has been solved, and the three individuals have now been arrested. They claimed that the act of scattering the powder was done to "subdue the spirits of the dead."
