2018 World's Top 10 Instant Noodles – This Taiwanese Brand Made the List

Well-known American food blogger Hans Lienesch has been ranking the top ten instant noodles of the year annually since 2002. He has recently released the 2018 list of the best instant noodles. After tasting over 200 varieties from around the world, this year’s top spot once again went to Singapore’s Prima Taste Laksa, while Taiwan made the list for the first time with two exceptionally flavorful instant noodles: Mama Stir-Fry Noodles’ Old Chengdu Dan Dan Noodles (7th place) and Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation’s White Spirit Pasta (8th place), both achieving outstanding results.

This year, Taiwan’s Mama Stir-Fry Noodles’ “Old Chengdu Dan Dan Noodles,” which ranked 7th, stood out for its unique flavor and texture. The noodles are hand-pulled and sun-dried using traditional methods from Guanmiao District in Tainan, paired with a red chili oil made from Sichuan peppercorns and canola oil, along with rich sesame paste, and finished with slightly crisp fried garlic bits. Its simple yet multi-layered taste and distinctive Sichuan-style flavor make the Dan Dan noodles truly unique and delicious.
