As spring blossoms, aside from thinking of fully bloomed cherry blossoms and the abundance of sweet-tart strawberries, matcha is also one of the must-have items of the season. Many brands have launched a variety of matcha-themed desserts to celebrate the arrival of spring. Whether it's ice cream, cakes, or beverages, they’re sure to make any matcha lover’s mouth water. Here’s a roundup of seven recently launched new matcha treats — don’t miss them if you’re a fan of this beloved flavor.

1.Cold Stone

Well-known ice cream chain Cold Stone introduces new flavors and products every season. This spring, they’re rolling out the “Ultra-Rich Matcha Series,” infusing double ultra-rich matcha flavor into ice cream, drinks, and pancakes. The new series includes the full line of “Refreshing GOOD Matcha Lemon,” “Rich Uji Berry Good,” “Rising Sun Ice Cream Pancake,” “Rich Matcha Melted Milk Tea,” and “Queen’s Arrival.” The “Refreshing GOOD Matcha Lemon” combines Uji matcha ice cream with lemon milk ice cream for a surprisingly delightful taste. The “Rich Uji Berry Good” mixes Uji matcha ice cream with sweet-tart strawberries and chewy mochi bits for a richly fruity profile. The “Rising Sun Ice Cream Pancake” features a matcha pancake shaped like Japan’s Mount Fuji, available exclusively at 15 limited locations across Taiwan — making it the perfect choice for enjoying matcha ice treats this summer.

2. Li Tea x PX Mart

The allure of matcha is sweeping across Taiwan. The century-old matcha brand from Kyoto’s Uji, Japan — “Li Tea” — is innovating once again. Recently, it collaborated with PX Mart, known for its popular co-branded dessert campaigns, to launch 11 matcha desserts. All products in this series use Li Tea’s matcha powder, staying true to traditional production methods by stone-grinding tea leaves into fine, high-quality powder that emits a richer aroma. Unlike regular green tea, when combined with various desserts, it offers a uniquely light and elegant flavor with a distinctive texture. The line officially launched on April 13.

3. Starbucks

The beloved coffee brand Starbucks has also launched two Mother’s Day matcha-flavored cakes to coincide with this year’s Mother’s Day season: the “Matcha Chiffon Cake” and the “Matcha Cheese Cake.” The “Matcha Chiffon Cake” uses premium Kyoto matcha powder, integrating matcha’s unique flavor into a moist and fluffy chiffon cake. It’s topped with a rich layer of matcha and classic whipped cream, garnished with No. 9 red beans for an irresistible finish.
