The world’s first space hotel becomes a reality: Unobstructed views of the cosmic galaxy

Pipe houses, capsule hotels, and various uniquely themed accommodations continue to emerge. Recently, the Houston-based American space company Orion Span announced the launch of the world’s first luxury space hotel, Aurora Station, which is set to be launched into space by the end of 2021 and begin operations in 2022.

This space hotel can accommodate up to six people at a time, including four guests and two crew members. Each trip lasts 12 days, orbiting the Earth once every 90 minutes at high speed. The cost per person per trip is $9.5 million, averaging $791,000 per night, and guests must also undergo three months of pre-flight training.

The space hotel will offer a variety of services and activities, including zero-gravity flights and the chance to view one’s hometown from space. Guests can also livestream their experiences in space to family and friends on Earth via high-speed internet. Those wishing to stay at the space hotel must also complete a three-month training program, covering basic spaceflight, orbital mechanics, pressurized environments in space, and emergency response procedures.

Although a trip to space currently costs nearly $10 million, it is expected that launch prices will become increasingly lower in the future. With more newly established rocket companies, space travel will become cheaper, faster, and better.
