A 2-kilometer cherry blossom avenue is in full bloom—the longest cherry blossom viewing spot in Taiwan!

There is a 2-kilometer-long cherry blossom avenue in Tuku Township, Yunlin. When it blooms in March and April, the vibrant and beautiful cherry blossom-lined road transforms the entire street into a magnificent pink avenue. The cherry blossom avenue is located in front of Maguang Junior High School, where Indian cherry blossoms (Bauhinia variegata) are planted. When in full bloom, their pink petals create a view that rivals other famous cherry blossom spots.

Bauhinia variegata, also known as Indian cherry blossom or tropical cherry blossom, originates from tropical regions such as southern China, India, and the Malay Peninsula. The flower has five pink petals, one of which often features a deep red pattern, making it quite unique. Its blooming season is from March to May each year, and it flowers after the leaves have fallen. As a result, when in full bloom, the pink Bauhinia variegata stands out even more without surrounding green leaves.

The cherry blossom avenue is located in the Nei community, stretching along Machang 1st Road to Heping Street in the Nei community. With approximately 1,000 Bauhinia variegata trees planted on both sides of the road, they are currently in full bloom. Thanks to careful maintenance by the local community, it has become a renowned flower-viewing spot and a community highlight.
