A vast sea of golden yellow flowers—dreamy, photogenic, free to visit, and featuring calla lilies by the sea

Besides the white calla lilies of Yangmingshan's Zhuzihu and the colorful calla lilies in Taoyuan, the yellow calla lily fields in Waipu, known as “Taichung’s Zhuzihu,” also offer a stunningly vibrant floral spectacle. The expansive golden-yellow sea of calla lilies captivates passersby who stop to take photos and admire the view.

Located near Shuitou First and Second Roads at No. 38, Jiayou Road in Waipu, there is a roughly 600-ping yellow calla lily field. This local flower farmer in Taichung has successfully cultivated yellow calla lilies, attracting numerous visitors daily during the flowering season who come to take photos. The site is also open to the public for free.

The common white calla lilies found in Zhuzihu are wetland varieties, while those in Waipu are land-based, colorful yellow ones. Though not as spectacularly grand as Yangmingshan’s Zhuzihu, Waipu’s calla lily fields bloom just as vibrantly, shining even more brilliantly under the sunlight.

In addition to admiring the vast golden sea of calla lilies in Waipu, visitors can also explore the nearby Lihpao Land. Especially during the Qingming holiday for children, the amusement park offers a special promotion called “Magical Lihpao Kids’ World,” allowing adults to enjoy the child ticket price of NT$499 (original full-price ticket is NT$750).
