The "World Travel Awards," known as the Oscars of the travel industry, has recently announced the list of nominees for various categories. Tigerair Taiwan, a low-cost carrier under China Airlines, has made its first nomination this year. It will compete for the titles of Asia’s Leading Low-Cost Airline and Asia’s Leading Low-Cost Airline – Efficiency Performance, potentially becoming a source of pride for Taiwan.

The voting period for the 2018 World Travel Awards in the Asia region runs from now until 7:00 AM Taipei Time on July 23. The World Travel Awards is the most prestigious certification in the global travel industry, with winners selected annually through votes by travel professionals and consumers.

Tigerair Taiwan was awarded the highest honor — the Platinum Award — in the low-cost airline category of the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Survey for two consecutive years in 2016 and 2017, becoming the first domestic budget airline to receive this distinction.This latest recognition through the World Travel Awards nomination further enhances the airline’s reputation in operations.
