World’s Largest MUJI Store Opens in Osaka with a Hipster-Style Food Market

The well-known Japanese brand “MUJI,” which takes care of every detail of life, previously expanded its flagship store in Tokyo’s Yurakucho district to create the first MUJI outlet with a “produce section.” Now, its new flagship store at AEON MALL Kita-Hanada in Osaka X: City has opened, creating the world’s largest MUJI outlet, spanning approximately 1,300 tsubo (about 4,300 square meters). In addition to selling produce, fresh meat is also available here.

This Kita-Hanada branch focuses mainly on food sales. In addition to featuring fresh fruits and vegetables, it carefully selects and sells high-quality local produce from the Kansai region. It offers seafood from Sakaiminato in Tottori Prefecture, black-haired Japanese wagyu beef from Miyazaki Prefecture, and Tamba chickens from the Tamba region. There are also in-store experts available to provide consultations about the food, truly an eye-opening experience.

Besides the fresh food supermarket, the Osaka Kita-Hanada store also offers MUJI Café & Meal, which is well known to many, as well as large furniture items and the design concept “MUJI’s House.” The store is fully stocked with food, home goods, clothing, and daily necessities, providing a multifunctional shopping space that delivers comprehensive lifestyle services.
