Japan’s Largest Cherry Blossom Shower – Laser Light Show at Shinagawa Aquarium

Located inside the Shinagawa Prince Hotel in Tokyo, “Aqua Park Shinagawa Aquarium” creates stunning audiovisual effects using cutting-edge technology. Following the huge success of its 2017 laser light show, this year it makes a strong comeback with a cherry blossom-themed event called “SAKURA AQUARIUM by NAKED,” presenting Japan’s largest cherry blossom shower spectacle.

The Sakura Aquarium kicks off in early March, featuring three key elements: high-tech projection and sensing, vibrant tropical fish, and beautifully blooming flowers. The venue is specially enveloped in cherry blossoms on all sides, while the entire lobby is illuminated with projection technology, complementing the aquarium’s underwater world to offer visitors a completely new experience.

Shinagawa Aquarium boasts a high-tech feel with the world’s first touch-panel tank, a romantic underwater corridor to stroll through, a dreamy glowing coral café bar, a highly popular dolphin show full of energy, and the daily lives of adorable penguins and seals to observe. The facility is home to350species and20,000 marine creatures from around the world for visitors to enjoy.

At the entrance, you’ll find a pink-hued wall with a cherry blossom backdrop that shows a flurry of flying petals when touched. Throughout the aquarium, cherry blossoms are in full bloom beside various tanks, and the café offers a view of night-blooming cherry blossoms, allowing guests to sip on spring-limited drinks while enjoying the scenery. Additionally, the jellyfish area creates a space where graceful jellyfish dance along with sound and light effects.

The aquarium’s signature show, the “Dolphin Show,” has both daytime and nighttime performances. During the day, dolphins show off their dancing skills on a flower-blooming hill projected onto a water screen, engaging the audience with simple clapping and dance moves to join in the festive fun. At night, advanced projection technology brings cherry blossoms to life, paired with the dolphins’ lively antics, filling the marine world with a springtime atmosphere.
