Read in a dreamy glass house at Taiwan’s first-ever stargazing library

No need to go outdoors to enjoy the starry sky — New Taipei City’s Linkou has built a stargazing reading room located on the second floor of Linkou Dongshi Market. With its spherical glass house and a starry Milky Way strip design, complemented by planet-shaped bookshelves, it makes visitors feel as if they are among the stars, offering a uniquely refreshing reading experience.

The reading room’s design features two glass houses as the main spatial and visual highlights, connected to a thoughtfully designed ceiling shaped like a Milky Way strip. When readers feel tired, they can look up at the twinkling stars to relax their body and mind.

In addition, the library also offers an accessible reading environment, featuring step-free entrances and exits and a sloped ramp for the glass house, making it convenient for wheelchair users.
