The 2017 Edition of the Taipei Tourist Passport is Here—Unlimited Travel Across Taipei, New Taipei, and Keelung with Just One Card!

One card, one guidebook—travel Taipei affordably and extensively. To help more travelers explore Taipei in depth, the Taipei City Government Department of Information and Tourism launchedthe 2017 edition of the "Taipei Pass Taipei Tourist Passport"itinerary and merchant discount guidebook today, featuring nine thoughtfully curated themed routes. In addition to promoting six itineraries within Taipei City, it also introduces three new routes that combine attractions in New Taipei and Keelung, along with information on Universiade venues. The guidebook also selects 100 top-value discounted merchants, demonstrating Taipei’s enthusiasm in welcoming both domestic and international tourists.

Spending big on travel isn’t the smartest move—saving money while enjoying the trip to the fullest is the real trick. Director Jian Yuyan of the Department of Information and Tourism stated,Starting January 1 next year, simply purchase the “Taipei Pass Taipei Tourist Passport” ticket card for an unlimited number of days, and with just one card, you can ride the Taipei Metro and city buses in Taipei and New Taipei an unlimited number of times, as well as four Taiwan Tourist Shuttle routes—the Beitou Zhuzihu Line, Muzha Pingxi Line, Golden Hualong Line, and Royal North Coast Line.Additionally, in collaboration with the Department of Information and Tourism, a limited number of “Taipei Pass Taipei Tourist Passport” itinerary and merchant discount guidebooks will be given away for free. These guidebooks recommend nine self-guided travel routes across Taipei, New Taipei, and Keelung, as well as 100 great-value discounted merchants. Tourists from around the world who have the Taipei Pass can enjoy a wealth of travel experiences in the most cost-effective way with just one guidebook in hand.

The one-day pass is NT$180, the two-day pass is NT$310, the three-day pass is NT$440, the five-day pass is NT$700, and the Maokong Gondola one-day ticket is NT$350. All are available at metro stations and the Taipei Main Station customer service center of EasyCard Corporation. Starting January 1, 2017, purchasing any of the passes will get you a free, premium guidebook while supplies last.
